I am a bit confused about Dell's EPP program. This thread talks about using the EPP program to get an extra discount. Can anyone order a laptop/computer from the EPP program and get the discount? Or do I need to work for a partnered company?
-
To get EPP discounts you need to be either at a university or in a partnered company. From the thread you referred to, stacking doesn't work anymore imo.
-
No but you still get the $200 epp coupon discount and the EPP % off. My company is definitely not affiliated with Dell and I am long out of school, so I assume I would not be able to use the EPP site?
-
for the $200 epp coupon..they'll send you an email. that'll have a coupon code for you..then there'll be a link that you should follow to access the EPP page. (use a yahoo/hotmail account to sign up to get the epp coupon btw). once you get to the shopping page, it might ask for your member id, which isnt available to everyone. each institution has its own member id.
-
Yeah, I received the coupon and know the link. My question is will they accept an order from someone off the street who is not in the program or do I need to prove that I am in the EPP program in some way.
-
you need a member id. beyond that...you'll get the discount if you have access to one (one being..an id).
edit: and if it doesnt ask for an id..kudos to you. =) -
I just went through a trial run and it only asks for the member ID when you go the initial page. You can specify that you do not know it and it will let you choose the type of partnership and let you.
I made a server, checked out, and the only thing they ask for is a company name. I wonder if I just need to enter a company name that I know is part of the program even if I do not work for them. -
you need to be in college or work for one
