    Confused about Dell Warranty item numbers on invoice

    I'm looking at the invoice for my recent m1530 purchase, and I'm confused about the warranty/service related charges. I contacted Dell support and got no where, so hopefully someone here is more familiar.

    980-9943 Type 15-Third Party at home service, 3 year extended $322
    988-5607 Dell hardware warranty, extended year $189
    984-2360 Type 15-Third Party at home service, initial year $56

    I'm a bit confused by the last item as I thought the first year of warranty was included in the purchase for free? Then the second item (988-5607) is just the fourth year of warranty? I'm thinking of ditching that, if possible.

    The third one is an "at home service" for the first year instead of you having to send your laptop in the mail.
