If you're considering other notebooks, HP's nc6400 and the Acer TravelMate 3000 are worth looking at. -
It seems like the Dell has all of that, my only concern is I really want to run Windows Vista/Areo and would like something that can do that. -
Oh and I guess my other big idea was the Thinkpad Z series but I was told to turn away because of size/graphics.
-
that sounds like a pretty good config. I really really like my d620. The one thing i would suggest is upgrading ram aftermarket. You will save yourself some money! Oh, and get the 9 cell. Its totally worth it. I get 4:30 battery life and it doubles as a really nice wrist support. So, with the money you would save upgrading ram aftermarket get the 9 cell, a DVD burner and maybe a faster spinning hard drive (i really like my 7200).

You can cut back on the CPU to save a few bucks. You are unlikely to notice a difference between the 2.0GHz and 1.8GHz.
-
Well, it was about 2050-2150 as I remember.
-
Oh and the reason I did not go for the DVD burner was that it was only 8X?
-
8x is as fast as you'll get in a laptop burner.
-
wow... 2150? Is that the price of the computer or model # of the processor? that seems really high for that config...
-
thats a high range.

I took up your suggestions and put an end to this 2 month process by clicking "buy". Thankyou for all your help!
