Sorry, I made the assumption that Skinit made one for the M1330 but I know now they don’t. But from other threads I’ve seen of wrapped covers, it doesn’t look like they give the same protection as the shields.

I actually still have the dimensions written on my desk. The top cover is 328mm x 228mm and the palm rest is 315mm x 85mm.

That is so cool, it will help a lot! Much thanks, Yasmine
ps. also, you gave the dimensions in metric, lol; very appreciated by this metric Canadian :)

you might as well shrink rap the thing!! you can have more fun when your not worried that you might scratch the notebook! its built well enought to be exposed in its own cover, you just have to be carefull!!

It does give a nice shine to it tho!!

Hope the xps (m1330) skin plan goes through! I'm interested.
Willing to participate in a groupbuy (that ships to uk) if there is one too!

incase they decide to not make one, I can just use any thin plastic protection film (3m, xpel...) or tint film right?

Np, I am more use to working with metric anyways since I deal with Asia. America is all special with their ‘standard’ system… ironic how it’s not so standard.

I wrap it pro-actively since I could sell it in the future and the less damage the better and more money in my return. I typically don’t worry about the notebook, like I said in the first post, I travel with it all the time so it does get it’s fair share of wear and tear, I just don’t want it to be visible.

Btw, I personally don’t like the shine… I like matte finishes.

Someone could potentially be sending in their M1330 for them to make a template. Cross your fingers.

2 people already PM'd me asking for the contact info of BSE and I am sure some people email directly to him. There are some that can live without their notebooks for several days.

In my original post, I explain how I applied it. I used a small spray bottle on the adhesion side as well as the surface on where the shield goes.

I'm a big fan of these skins. They're the same as the ones offered for Mobile/MP3 devices seen on Invisibleshield.com as well as BestSkins.

I've got them on my two mobile phones, my Apple Touch and my Creative Zen Vision:M. They're insanely good at protecting surfaces and very easy to peel off afterwards, leaving no marks. Doubt i'll bother with shielding my 1530 but I must admit the OP did a top job of doing his.

I have mentioned before that I worked a deal out to get a skin made for my dv600t in order for a template to be made. Well I have again contacted the same member within www.shieldzone.com and inquired about doing another deal for my new (being built) XPS M1330. I have been put in contact with the New Vice President of Sales and Marketing for Zagg's Invisible shield and I will keep everyone abreast of the possibility of this being created (soon hopefully).

If you have never used a product from Shieldzone then you should check out my review on the notebook cosmetic page under resources, or check them out at www.shieldzone.com .

My goal is to have a pre cut template made, using my computer as the template maker so that we can have a pre cut shield for our XPS M1330's.
If you are at all interested in this idea, then please post here as often as possible stating your interest so that they can see the value in doing this project.

I have sent a link to this post to the new Sales and Marketing Vice President, so be sure to let him know you have money you want to spend on his product.

    Thanks,
    Levi King

Hopefully will save you the trouble. They will make a custom shield, charge you $10 on top of the nominal shield cost and shipping.

I have been contacted by Zagg/shieldzone, and they will be producing a shield for me. This should give them the template that they need to start producing such a shield. While I cannot 100% guarantee they will put this into production, if mine comes out good and it is a quality result I do believe they will make the pre-cut shield for the XPS M1330.

There has been a delay however, as I am actually waiting for my replacement to come in after my original M1330 had an issue with it. I should be shipping early next week for them to build a shield.

Stay tuned for a full review including pictures, maybe a video?

Well, the unspeakable happened yesterday. As I was in the middle of doing some work on the XPS, the FedEx courier dropped by to drop off a package as he was doing so, my dog rushed to the door taking my power cord with him. Needless to say he yanked the whole notebook off the desk and onto the hardwood floor.

It landed top-side (Dell logo) first but after running a few apps and making sure the hard drive wasn't damaged, I inspected the case and found no scratches or sc****s. From now on I am velcro'in the cord to the table leg so this won't happen again. Lucky break...

Just to update anyone who may be interested, I have been delayed in shipping my computer to shield zone to get a template created as Dell is currently building me a more acceptable unit. I will post a link to my review when I get the shield made.

It looks like invisibleshield has an m1330 skin now: http://www.invisibleshield.com/laptop/dell/xps-1330.php

Why not just use that rather than sending yours in?

The picture in that link isn't m1330. Though the title said m1330... i think someone should email them about it to confirm.

Too bad i order from skinsever.com i have to cut it myself and i just got the skin today :( ..

iam in the process of making my own template to cut it.. but if invisibleshield really have a precut m1330 skin .. i would buy it again XD save me the time..

I'm waiting forthis too ^^, hopefully someone can post their m1330 with invisibleshield, with a super close-up photograph.

I'm using BSE for my creative zen:M, been a like 1.5 years, it's protecting my player perfectly, it has scratch mark on the screen tho. And on every corners, start to flipped out, and many dusts trapped behind it, along to the edges of every skin =/

It looks dirty, but at least it's not scratching the real thing anyway.

comparing invisibleshield and bestskinsever, think i'm going to try the large uncut sheet and cut it myself....

anyone tried the sheet on the trackpad, or manually cutting it for each key?......
