So yeah, I just saw after I contemplated getting the complete care that florida residents are the ONLY state that is disqualified for the extra warranty. WTF is that? What's the reason?
-
probably could not hire any local contractors to come fix your stuff, i dono, maybe some tax regulations
-
What the F kind of state discrimination is this? lol.
"Important Note: CompleteCare Accidental Damage Service is not available in Florida. As a result, PC-Care Premium and PC-Care Plus bundles are not available to customers in Florida."
I'm looking into any specific reasons..maybe some type of state law? or does a laptop get subject to harsher conditions in florida? maybe we're too clumsy? I was born and raised in brooklyn, I want complete care! -
-
Hurricanes?
-
you know its real hot and humid here lmao.
-
anyway..
"By Florida state law, residents of the state can not purchase the Dell Complete Care warranty." That is just simply and utterly mentally incapacitating.
Why? what moron said "Say no to dell warranty! screw floridians!" -
I have no idea... write to your governor. LOL...
-
-
Old people **** their laptops up more on average.
-
Every warranty that I've ever seen says not valid in Florida. My guess is that there is some sort of state legislature that prohibits warranties.
Okay, I read some stuff, apparently if you want your company's warranty to be valid in Florida, you must purchase a special license. -
ROFL. Ok so, it seems that all these old geezers I happen to live around believe they are getting "ripped off" by such warranties. Standard warranties are good, but any "EXTRA" package you have to pay for is illegal in the state of florida. I officially don't like this place anymore than I did 20 minutes ago. Anyone need a roomate?
-
It's because Florida has more lightning strikes each year than any other part of the world. Most laptop users do not use surge protectors when plugging in their notebook. I read an article somewhere that said there are A LOT more insurance claims in FL for electronics damage due to lightning than any other state - combined.
-
I'm actually kind of surprised that the University of Florida had a mandatory 3 year completecare bundled with the m1330. I know that just because you may go to U of Florida doesn't mean that you are from Florida, but there's a good chance since you purchased a laptop from a University site, that you will use it at the University the most. And that's where the most accidents happen.
-
No, I believe it is because CompleteCare is considered 'insurance' of sorts in Florida and California and as a result are not allowed to be sold by companies without an insurance license, such as Dell.
-
-
-
I told you it was the old ****s
-
Conduct an elaborate scheme in which you have a secondary "Dell Warranty" residence in which you conduct any and all business related to Dell. Just put it close to the Florida border so you don't have to drive too far. Then have as much fun with your CompleteCare as you want.

Metamorphical Good computer user
Yeah its true and I could not get it about a year and a half ago when I bought my 6000. I think that there is some law in FL that actually takes the place of some of complete care. They aren't the only ones that don't offer ADP in FL as well.
-
Because Floridians elected Jeb Bush - they figure they arent competent enough to handle a laptop safely - that's my guess.
-
if you go threw small business you can get it

Well we live in Florida which has a lot of crazy rules. Florida no fault ring a bell? I still can't believe that if I get hit by someone that my insurance has to pay for it and my rates get increased when I didn't do anything wrong, but I can sue them for 10,000.00 dollars, give 60% to my atty and use the other 40% to pay for the premium increase. Or how about the plywood state? =) There are very few companies in Florida that offer homeowners or renters insurance anymore after recent hurricanes. BUT, I love the beaches, West Palm, Panama City and Sanibel Island to name a few.
-
thanks man, i actually live in odessa right now, i lived in J'ville a while ago.
-
yeah i live right outside of west palm and love it here. you can get complete care if you get a business line though. its just not for home use or whatever.
-

Completecare is a rip and i couldnt understand why someone would want to be at the front of that line waiting to bend over.
I dont live in fl but i wish my state had those laws then i wouldnt have best buy offering me extended warranties on $15 head phones.
$15 for the enema then an additional $5 for the lube. No thanks. -
^^^actually best buy still offeres warranty's in the stores.

The majority of todays electronics that doesn't fail within the first year is going to stand up to the test of time. Its user error that greatly increases the chances of something going to hell.
To each his freaking own. Like i said if you want to jump to the front of the line to get bent, feel free. -
dame... i had heard of this, and had even asked an XPS rep about this because my m1330 came bundled with the 3yr complete care. He told me though that as far as he knrw FL was covered (he didn't sound to sure of himself though).
I think I'll try and get it canceled once my notebook gets in. I don't want to mention the word "cancel" to a Dell rep and have them mess up my order or something. -
It's kind of like shooting yourself in the foot.
CompleteCare NOT ALLOWED in Florida? WOW
