A week ago, my XPS M1330 fell onto the ground after I accidently nudged it off the bed when I was sleeping. (Yes, I play with my computer on my bed, so what)

The AC adapter was connected to the unit and the fall of unit was braced by the impact of the AC adapter plug, which was in the socket of the XPS. The damage was that the cable electrical connection into computer was messed up. I couldn't charge my battery, I couldn't even turn it on...it sucked cuz the thing that was broken was probably connected to the motherboard so it would have been costly and impossible for me to fix myself.

To put it shortly, I called Dell support, they sent me a box in whicih I would put my laptop back to them.I sent in my broken laptop Tuesday, Feb 5th, and recieved it back Thursday Feb 7th, TWO DAYS LATER and it was fixed. I live in Baltimore and the depot was in Texas.

Fastest service in my life. I thought i would take 2 weeks (the rep says turnaround time from shipment of box and recieving of box was 2 weeks)

Even better was that Dell paid for the shipping to and from. DHL service is FAST!

I would recommend anyone to consider the Complete care package.

They conducted an extensive testing of my XPS unit. they replaced a loose hindge, upgraded a heat sink, (overheating issues?), upgraded the coaxal cable, among various other things that I didn't know I had wrong with my system..

like I said, accidents do happen. Things break due to human error. Unless you are a perfect individual taht does everything perfect and has takes care of your Dell system, you should consider the complete care package.

best experience with dell yet. I'm still kinda shocked and I brag to it to everyone. And my friends are like: "you told me this already. pls shut up"

It was that reason (combined with the fact it was only $84 more over the warranty I was getting anyways) I went with CC (the dropping of the machine).

But Dell service has always been that fast! I had my i5160 for 3 years and it had a NBD (Next Business Day) RTD (Return to Depot) basic warranty. They never took more than a day to fix it (2 day turn around once you count shipping times).

They also never made me pay for shipping!

The warranty is why I keep coming back to Dell time and time again...

Only in the first either 14 or 30 days since the machine's build date. I can't remember which it is at the moment...

Since CC is basically insurance the underwriter wants to make sure you're not getting CC after you've already broken the machine :p

Great if you live outside Florida. Unfortunately Floridians are not eligible for Complete Care, make sure you don't pay for it if you are in Florida.
