    looking at these two little tidbits on the service manual:

    It looks like it is possible to keep the 1520 a gameing machine for quite a while. even when new cards come out. now the problem would be finding the new cards and what format they use. but on the bright side if ur local radio shack is having a sale on notebook santa rosa processors go ahead and get the best you can find.

    Am i right or am i completely off?

    of course you can upgrade the CPU
    you can take out the GPU, but only a Dell 8400M GS or 8600M GT will fit in that area.
