I got my 1737 with the 1440x900 WXGA screen a couple of days ago. So far I've been a little less than impressed with the screen, finding it hard to get the right brightness and contrast settings with the backlight set about 1/3rd of the way on, all the colours look overly saturated and in general, too bright.
I've messed with the RGB settings which has improved things a little but I was wondering if theres a ICC profile available or if someone else has spent time setting up their screen and can pass on their settings to me?
Thanks!
(btw - 'colour' = 'color' for you Americans )

I asked this a few days ago a didnt get a response, i plan to get a colorimeter in the near future, when i do ill post the settings. mind i have a studio 15 so may not be much use to you.
My screen is way too cold and blue tinted at the moment. -
Funnily enough I've been knocking the blue down on my screen too which has helped, but I can't seem to get it 'just' right.
I've been looking at the huey's and spyder2's wondering if they'd be a worthy investment - I've tried with a adobe gamma tool and made a complete mess of the colour, so something that does it for me HAS to be a good investment. -
I noticed the same very bad problem on my "old' HP Compaq 6730s!
Now I"m with Studio 15 1440x900 LED and my LCD screen is fine!
Sorry for you guys...I know it sux....super bright screen all the time....
I noticed the same on many monitors - I guess it is somehow like unrecognized "defect"
Sadly -
I think the majority of consumers don't realise you can do anything to adjust the colour settings, so assume their screen is correct because that's how it came from the manufacturer - they don't complain so manufacturers don't do anything to make sure colour reproduction is spot on. Its a pain when you come to look at your photographs and they all have a subtle blue caste though!
perhaps its only a problem when you're aware it may exist.. ignorance is bliss! -
My HP 6730s was so bright - so I had non - stop headache and tired eyes!
For one month I was like crazy!
But you are right. Now for example I have problem with my WD Hard Disk "clicking in idle" - the manufacturer already know(n) about this issue!
Not only Wester Digital, Seagate, Samsung, Hitachi, Futjitsu - they both have this problem with their HARD DISKs but NOTHING!
By the way your screen problem is easy noticeable, but if you are in BIG NOTEBOOK MARKET AND YOU CAN COMPARE NOTEBOOKS SCREEN BY SCREEN on some cool movie like "Kung Fu Panda"
I tried It and after It i released - the issue was not only with my HP, but with Dell,ACER,Sony....too...
I'm really sorry for you guys!Hope you will be ok!
IS YOUR SCREEN - AU OPTRONICS (PLEASE CHECK WITH EVEREST)?
