    Hey

I ran de PSA diagnostics on my Studio 1555 and I got the error 2000 - 0212 (CMOS failed the pattern test). I changed the CMOS setting to default, ran the test again, and I got the same error. Called Dell tech support, they told me that they are going to replace my board. My original problem is that Win7 is taking more than normal to start (2 - 3 minutes to be ready). I got an Intel C2D P8700, 4GB RAM DDR2 800MHz, ATI Radeon 4570HD 512mb, 250GB Samsung HD 5400RPM. It should start fast, since the HD has no fragments, the win reg is ok and I have not crappy services or programs at startup. Does any1 know what is this error about?

I have been trying some tips that tipoo gave me and anyway I'll let them to replace my board.

    Any other advice?

    Thanks

Did you reset the CMOS configuration in BIOS, or did you try disconnecting the CMOS battery altogether? If the former, I think you should try the latter. Disconnect all power sources from the laptop, pull out the CMOS battery, hold the power button for a while... and then re-connect power sources and try the test again.

Only tried in BIOS. But I wonder how that could cause Win7 to start that slow, that was my original problem. This is getting me nuts x) I will try with the battery. I meant as well, what is this error about.

    Thanks
