On my E1705, I hear a clicking noise when I press on the outer edge of the screen on the right side. Right under the rubber piece in the middle of the right outer casing and going down, when I lightly press on the casing in that area, I can hear a click. It only happens on the right side. I know its not a big deal, because the screen is perfect, but stuff like this bothers me after spending over $2000 on this computer. Does this happen on all E1705's or is it just mine? I don't know if this is a big enough problem to send it in. It only makes the noise when I light press on it. Please help.

Maybe not something you would like to try and do, but you could try taking it apart and putting it back together. I've seen that done on laptops before.. just wasn't quite put together right in the first place.

Its not a loud click. Its just a soft little click. Sometimes I can't even hear it. But it is sort of loose. The left side is very nice and firm. The right side is not so much so. Its not "flimsy" or anything, its just a little bit loose, meaning i can press on it and it and it flexes a little. Can all of you E1705 owners check your system and tell me if this happens to you?

you might have a screw loose on the inside. Its not hard to take apart the display, but if it is only happening when you press on it, then it might not be worth it.

Maybe you could just take off the little sticky rubber pad things and see if those screws need tightened..

I'm not gonna try to do it on my own, I don't want to mess anything up. Its not really bothering me anymore, so I'll just ignore it.

Edit: I have a 4 year warranty with at home support. Do you think a Dell tech would come to my house to fix something like this?

Tell them that it's really annoying you and you just payed a lot of money for a notebook that you want to function properly. It should have been built better. Say you would do it yourself but you don't want it to void your warranty.
