What stuff should I get rid of on my new computer?
quicktime, real player, windows player, sonic?..... they all seem like multibles of similar stuff. I'd like to start out with a clean NEW computer minus junk programs. What do you recommend getting rid of?

get rid of everything by reinstalling your OS. while you're at it, repartition the HD because the dell image is taking up about 3 GBs of space from you. i was surprised they used so much for it.

before you do, make sure you have a driver disk or go to dell's service site and dl all the drivers onto an external drive or CDR... you really only need your internet connection driver (wireless or wired) so that you can connect. once you're able to connect, you can go to dell's site and get the other drivers you need.

    good luck

like drumfu said, best bet is too just get rid of it all and start fresh. Make sure to get all the drivers you will need. If you have installed anything, take the installer program if you can and for games atleast the save files. For things you are missing, just download them as you go along. Im about to do this all tomorrow as im getting a new hard drive from dell to replace my "clicking/ticking" hard drive. Ive backed up everything i need (drivers for computer and graphics card), programs(firefox, limewire, game patches and extras, windows xp enchancements). Backup anything you think your going to need!
