Just moisten a small part of a cotton towel (water only), then use the dry portion so you leave no water spots. I do this to the inside part of the screen, too.

Unless you've allowed the muck to cake on, cleaning it with just water every now and then will do just fine.

I've used Windex Clean & Shine microfiber cloths for things like monitor screens, eyeglasses, and surfaces that attract fingerprints. They don't have any kind of cleaner in them. They're just dry cloths. I got them at the grocery store, a box of 12 cloths for between $3 and $4.

I'm just using clothe and water. Even when you think your hands are clean, they leave prints on the back of this notebook.
