I have noticed small spots the screen of my xps m1330. I was wondering the best way to clean the screen.

I use the cloth that it came with for dust and stuff like that. But, for the spots, I have just been dabbing a bit of water from my fingertip on the screen...then, I will use the cloth the wipe it away. But, I have to apply a bit of pressure. Is this bad for the screen, pixels, etc.?

Is there a better way to clean it? I have used the cleaning pads with a solution in them, that claim to be safe, on my other laptop (inspiron e1505). But, they left streaks all over the screen that are incredibly difficult to wipe off.

That happened with mine too. I figured out a way to maneuver it to where I can wipe the dust off though. I'll wipe it all to one corner, then move the cloth in such a way that removes the dust. I can't really explain tit though.

I use alcohol pads and a micro fiber cloth and it seems to do the work

This is going to sound like a dumb question, but I just want to make sure. Do you mean regular alcohol pad that you can by in any drug store? Or, are they specially made for laptop screens.

    Thanks :)

Awesome! Thanks so much. I am weary of cleaning products because of what the last one I used did to my other laptop. But, there's no denying the pictorial evidence in the thread that you linked.

I'll definitely purchase the cloth and mist - For my new xps m1330, and to clean the mess of smudges left on my inspiron e1505 from a crappy cleaning product that I used months ago.

    Thanks again... :)
