    Hi,

I have a M1210. I like it quite a bit. I noticed that the screen has a "Glassy" look to it, not like my inspiron 8600 which has a different feeling screen.

Anyway, I would like to clean the screen (too many grubby hands wowing my laptop). What Can I use to clean it?

    Thanks,
    Rich

    WINDEX?!?!? NOOOOOOOOO...

    Read below...

"Never use a cleaning agent such as Windex on your LCD. Those cleaners often contain ammonia, which can, over time, damage your display's panel. A slightly damp, lint-free cloth, like the ones included with eyeglasses, or a microfiber cloth should do the trick. Never use paper towels! If you see streaks, follow the damp cloth immediately with a dry one. You can moisten the cloth with plain water or a commercial LCD panel cleaner, available at office supply stores. These commercial cleaners are often just 50/50 isopropyl alcohol and water mixtures, so clearly, you can mix that yourself and save a couple of bucks. Just remember never to spray any liquid directly at your screen. Moisten the cloth instead."

The also sell monitor wipes (packs of 50 cloths sometimes). They're nice and some are streak free (the best kind you should get). I love 'em...

Best Buy has a fairly good LCD cleaning kit for about $10-15 that includes a good cleaning agent safe for LCDs and quite a few microfiber cloths...I love it.

It's best not to use any type of spray on cleaner. The liquid tends to splatter, run and drip and you don't want liquid getting inside your laptop.

why on earth someone would spend 15$ when they can do it for free is beyond me.

personally, ill spend my money on something else, and use my warm water towel...producing the exact same results :)

You need to get yourself a nice microfiber cloth. All you have to do is get it a little damp and it'll do the job.

In the future you have to educate people and let them know that they shouldnt be putting their hands or fingers on lcds the way they used to on crts.

Definately one of my biggest pet peeves.
