I did a clean install the other day using flamenko's post: http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?t=157838

I'm just wondering which of the following driver's I still need to install. ie. I don't know if my HD and/or chipset supports turbo memory or matrix storage manager? My device manager doesn't show any missing drivers but my driver's disc does not have some of drivers that are on the dell download page for my service tag.

    Intel - Driver
    Applies to:
    Turbo Memory
    Optional 04/01/2008 21 MB

    Intel - Driver
    Applies to:
    Matrix Storage Manager - Notebooks
    Optional 04/01/2008 327 KB

    Broadcom - Driver
    Applies to:
    BD Accelerator solution
    Optional 04/01/2008 3 MB

    Intel - Driver
    Applies to:
    GM965 Express Chipset Family
    Optional 15/01/2008 15 MB
Is it better to install the driver for the graphics card from the Intel site or the ones from the dell site/disc?

Here are the specs of my laptop:
    Intel C2D T5450 (1.66GHz/667Mhz FSB/2MB cache)
    2GB Shared Dual Channel DDR2 at 667MHz
High Resolution, glossy widescreen 15.4 inch display (1440x900)
    W/Integrated 2.0M Pixel Webcam
    Intel Graphics Media Accelerator X3100
    160GB SATA Hard Drive (5400RPM)
    Integrated 10/100 Network Card
    Integrated Modem
CD / DVD Burner (DVD+/-RW Drive)
    High Definition Audio 2.0
Intel Next -Gen Wireless -N Mini -card

    Thanks in advance.

Well, after getting things working with your disc, I recommend downloading the updated ones from the Dell website, and any you are missing as well. Between Intel and Dell, I don't think it makes much difference, but I would download from Dell.

support.dell.com would be a good place.

Look up your system, select your OS, and download and install the drivers listed that apply to your configuration.
