I am going to (hopefully) receive my 1420 soon, and I want to find out about clean installing Vista. What I hope to accomplish is getting rid of most of the bloatware. I just want to be left with the bare minimum, whatever comes with Vista (IE, WMP, etc.). Is this possible? I really need detailed, easy to understand instructions, seeing as how I am new to this, and I don't really have any clue as to what I am doing.

If Dell installed anything extra I do need, can't I get it back through the many "pre-installed" disks they give you?

    Thank you for any help!

you may not have to do a clean install since from what i've heard is that the bloatware isnt too bad. i have read some people just uninstall the programs they dont need and when done run a registry cleanup utility to ensure all traces of the program are gone.
