I replied posted in Flamenco's thread about this but it's getting so long i thought i would start a new thread.

So, i wanted to clean install vista on my 1720. I followed flamencos instructions. Everything goes fine until i get to the point of actualyl installing Vista.

I select the partition to install on
it brings up a checklist with 5 things on it as it is intalling. (Copying windows files, Expanding Files, Installing Features, Installing Updates, Completing installation)

I get through the first 4 just fine, it then restarts itself. Upon reboot, it goes to the 5th (Completing installation). The problem is, it never completes! I have let it sit for over 30 minutes with no luck. Ive tried it several times. If anyone could help that would be great.

Are you letting it connect to the internet during the install? If you are, don't. Also, remove all devices (usb mouse, thumb drives etc) from the computer during the installation.

If this does not work, try running a check disk on your hard drive to check for corrupt clusters.
