I also would like to do a Vista clean install. i received my 1530 a few days ago and while it a great laptop, it runs a little slower then I anticipated and I am assuming this is from all the bloatware.

You know, I was thinking about doing a clean install, I got my laptop, and booted it up, and it was a little sluggish. I admit I was worried. However, I then switched out the memory modules from 2x512MB to 2x2GB and it's BLAZING fast, even with Windows Vista Memory Hog Edition.

Yea I was going to reformat as well. However I just used the program "Pc Decrapifier" and it has gotten rid of alot of the bloatware. The computer runs alot faster now :)

ok this might be a silly question but...when i purchase my 1530 with Vista Ultimate from dell, it will come with the install disc right?

I have been reformatting various computers since win95 (this will be my first laptop) and i was unaware formating a laptop and installing vista is different...??
