Hey guys, I'm just wondering is it worth installing the chipset & sata drivers?
The specific drivers im talking about are the Intel Mobile Chipset Drivers & and the Intel Matrix Storage Manager drivers.

Im currently running Windows 7 7229 in AHCI.
Would I see any performance gains?

Most likely, you won't see any performance gains.

Chipset and SATA Drivers are not really meant to increase the performance a computer, but you might notice an increase in the stability and reliability of your computer.

I do not know what motherboard are you talking about, you could help us to help you if you told us what motherboard and computer you have.

However, it is always a good idea to keep your drivers updated, as some contain last-moment hotfixes, and this is especially important when dealing with Chipset and SATA Drivers.

Try to be as descriptive and include as much data related to the motherboard and the computer that you have, so that we can help you the best we can, the information that you posted is too vague.

Thanks for posting the information about your computer and the chipset.

There won't be any great and noticeable performance gains, I used to have a desktop computer with this same motherboard (the desktop version), and yes, the driver updating contributed to increase the system's stability and reliability, but not by much.

I suggest you to update your drivers, that way, you can ensure that your computer won't have as many errors in the future.

I hope that I have been of assistance and that my recommendations have helped you, if you need any further assistance in the future, just ask!

Thread moved to Dell Inspiron forum since it doesn't have anything to do with gaming or graphics cards.
