Hey, I recently ordered a 64mb geforce4 4200 go from impactcomputers.com to replace my burnt out laptop video card. Now the card that arrived is listed as a 64mb card on the package, but the card itself is an Ati Radeon mobility 9000, and when I install the drivers for it dxdiag and Everest are reporting it as having only 32mb of memory.

I already applied for a return, but I was wondering if there is a way to know for sure that it is only a 32mb card and it’s not just the drivers or something else that are making it read as 32mb. I just want to be 100% sure before I send it back, because not only is this ****ty card costing me 250 bucks to order, but I’m also paying a non refundable 40 bucks Canadian in duty to get it shipped in.

The laptop is an Inspiron 8500.

Thanks for any info you can give me.

If you right click on your desktop, go to properties, settings, and then advance and then click on your graphics card it should say what memory you have in your graphics card.

Yeah, Thanks. I was wondering though, if its possible that the memory size might be reading incorrectly because of the drivers.

Hmm...I think the chance for it to read it incorrectly is pretty rare, unless the driver is messed up or you got the wrong card. Do you know how to go into your bios? I think the bios also tells you what memory you have on your graphics card.
