After spending all day online and on the phone with sales and customer service, I finally got the 4% (actually he just gave me $50 off which was better than 4%) off for using my dell preferred card in addition to the $350 off coupon. Somehow it went through Dell Canada because that is who called me to confirm my order that I ordered through a very good sales agent online. I also had received a $100 credit and free next business day shipping to compensate me for Dell cancelling my e1505 order at the end of June without my consent...HAHA

WOW i paid $500 more for the same thing, though that does include a 3-year warranty and 3-year accidental coverage + webcam.

*Edit: Woah woah woah, home basic? Why would you get home basic? Do you have your own copy of Premium to put on there or are you going to install XP?

Home basic is a completely gutted version of Vista. It's like you get all of vista's garbage with none of its cool perks. :(

In that case, amazing deal! I would have sprung for the accident coverage though, just because I know what can happen to laptops (especially at college). Protection from spills alone is worth it, and CompleteCare covers everything except fire damage (in which case your laptop is covered by renter's insurance).

I definately found that the online people are have the option to do the 4% off with preferred card than the phone peeps. In my case he just gave me a special discount of $50 dollars. Actually when the senior guy called back I could have paid with my own credit card instead of my dell card because he was like " How will you be paying for your dell today, your own credit card or a dell preffered card?" haha
