    Hi!

I will be doing some military services for some while in less then two month. And i really need a laptop till then, I was about to order a Macbook, but I realize that I might wanted to play some games, so that wasn't an option, and the Macbook pro, is a little bit to expensive, or at least for how high I prio it.

So I started to read review after review on this page, and i found out that Dell seams to do pretty good notebooks, so now, I have put this system together, and it's in my price range, but I am wondering, will it be a okey Laptop, will it handel games like GTA San Andreas and Battle field 2?

    Here are the specs;

    Intel ® Core™ Duo Processor T2300 (1.66 GHz, 2 MB L2 cache, 667 MHz FSB)
    1024MB 533MHz DDR2 SDRAM (2x512)
    256MB ATI® MOBILITY™ RADEON® X1400 graphics card, PCI-Express x16
    80GB (5,400 rpm) Hard Drive
    8X DVD+/-RW med Software
Intel® Pro WLAN 3945 Internal Wireless (802.11a/b/g 54 Mbps) for Duo Processors
Gedis Bundle Reference 6400 Silver N05642
    9-cell , 80 Whr Li-Ion primary battery
15.4" W Screen XGA TFT Display resolution: 1280x800

Can you see anything in the list that makes you go "ohh, I recommend that for any one"? Is there any component that's not good at all?
Do you think that this computer will be able to handle Battle Field 2 and GTA San Andreas with Okay graphic?

    Greetings from Sweden!

That looks fine to me. If you want to save some money, buy extra RAM from cheaper sources. I think Dell charges $100 to upgrade from 512 MB to 1 GB of RAM.

The video card will be fine. An x1400 can play BF2 on medium to medium-high settings.

    What is your price range?

Also, that graphics card might struggle a bit with the latest games like battle field 2, unless you are fine turning down the graphics. Plus, what laptop is this? the E1705 (which i recommend) but a little big if you are carrying it around. but that shouldn't really matter, just see it as a good workout.

The ram was allready @ 1024, can't down grade it.

Well, it's hard to say because I live in Sweden, it's like 1340 $ (USD). But that's really aint much here, a Macbook cost about 1450$ here =)

I can't find the model @ dell.com (only on the .se domain). But here it's called: Inspiron 6400 (evalue n05642)
