sorry if this is the wrong place to post this, but i noticed ppl complaining about their dells getting too hot. im on my way to purchasing a m1530, and i wanted to share this with you fellow dell owners.
i was looking around for a cheap notebook cooler and i stumbled upon an instructable on making a notebook stand with K'nex, which is cheap and effective. also, you can make one that'll fit your notebook size.
this got me thinking a little more... you can even create an effective cooler, by adding some fans to the underside. i was think you could either use miniature fans (operated by batteries) or use computer fans. is it possible power computer fans by way of usb?

Yes, it is possible to power a small fan using USB. Here is a small amateur guide:

However, in all, I think it would be way cheaper to buy a cooling pad from ebay instead of building one yourself.
Before you do buy/build anything, test your notebook, see how hot it is, and if those temps. are acceptable to you. Myself: I'm happy with a USB hub that I placed underneath the back of my 1520(the hub was designed for that). It keeps it so cool that I only hear the fans when playing 3D intensive games. No need for USB powered fans or anything else, plus it keeps the hub hidden and saves some space. -
I bought the antec notebook cooler. I read some good reviews and it is not really expensive.

Also sell those in the laptop accessory section.

as far as XPS 1530 mine doesn't get hot enough to worry about cooling it.
Cheap Notebook Stand, and possibly a Cooler
