Do I have to charge the battery for 12 hours like before when I first get my laptop?

Just charge it until the battery meter in Windows tells you it's full. A full charge from nearly dead on my laptop (6 cell battery) takes around 3 or 4 hours. If your battery still isn't at 100% by 12 hours, then something may be wrong.

Ok maybe I'll just charge it for a couple more hours. Haven't turned it on yet. Damn this healing design is beautiful.

You can turn it on while the battery charges, you know. It won't hurt anything. Try it! :)

Also, can we get some pictures of this beautiful design? My Studio 15 has the standard Jet Black finish, and I've never seen any of the artist designs up close.

The days that you had to charge it for a specific amount of time due to battery "memory" are now a thing of the past; li-on batteries do not have these issues.

However, it is recommended that you charge it to 100% by practically all of the manufacturers. I do not know why this is to be honest.

If you have questions about your battery, why not visit the battery university; it's a great hub of information for all things battery related.
