My gf has a dell inspiron 1300 laptop and she's bought it with 3 year complete care warranty. Over 2 years she droped thelaptop off the bed before, and minor problems: limited wireless connctivity issues, play dvd movies, and weird color screens (not BSOD or freeze). I was studying late at night with coffee trying to catch up reading for my exam last week, and I knocked over my coffee and it got on her laptop , I tried to stop everything quiet but the screen didn't show things right and then it went black.

I checked the laptop is still under warranty. Please from your experience, what would dell do with the laptop?

My table just didn't have enough room on the table.

If they can't fix it, they'll replace it.

Pretty sure they will fix or replace it (first trying to fix it). Complete care covers "non-intentional, accidental damage" including spills. I had a warranty like that on my old laptop. My 3 year old poured a coke on it did major damage. The company refused to honor it saying it was "intentional abuse". Your spill was clearly an accident so you should have no problems.

Today's warranties cover spills regardless. There is no way a company can determine if you accidentally spill liquid or if it was on purpose, and they aren't going to go though the hassle of arguing with a customer over something that cannot be proven.

It will be replaced... seeing as the 1300 isn't manufactured anymore, you will be receiving a newer model, with better stuff in it anyway. So it isn't really a bad thing that you got coffee on it.
