I wonder if they don't have an efficient system at Dell.

I ordered my XPS M1530 on Thursday morning. The ESD was 12/21 and the EDD was 12/24 (though with Christmas around the corner I am sure that the Overnight Delivery would have made it during the weekend.)
One day later (Friday) I called an wanted to upgrade the CPU. The guy (Indian judging by his accent) said he couldn't change the order, he could just cancel it and put in a new order with the new specs. This one day resulted in a delay of 1 week (ESD 2/1 and EDD 3/1).
So the status of the old order was set to changed and the new orders showed up online with "Order processing". Though the account overview showed that the old order was cancelled.
After two days the new order status had not changed. So I called the number that came with my first online order and checked the status. It said "Please contact a CSR." and I was put through to one. Another Indian guy said "There is a problem with your credit card." I said "Okay. To change that let me change the credit card information". He put me through to the sales department. The sales rep said "I cannot do anything but I will watch your order and if it doesn't change within 1 hour I will call you." Thus said she put me through to the "loan department'. The lady there said she couldn't help me because I didn't buy it using a loan from them and she couldn't put me back to the sales department. So I had to call again...after having listened to all their music I got another guy who said "It will take 24-48 hours to get your order off hold." I asked "Would it help to change the credit card information?" He said "It would still take 24-48 hours"....back to square one I guess.
Now I have two different case numbers and 1 promise ("I will call you back within 1 hour") unfulfilled.

My first order with Dell a few years ago was much more painfree.

And it happened: I am happy about Dell.
They straightened out my problems and now everything is on track to be delivered sooner. :)
(If you can get Geetika in an online chat I recommend that. Every promise made in that online chat will be fulfilled !!!)
