Just got a laptop from Dell outlet. It comes with 6GB of ram. So I assume its 1 stick of 2GB and 1 stick of 4GB. So it will be single channel. I wanted to upgrade to 8GB of ram but after looking at the service manual for the Dell 13Z you have to remove the keyboard and lots of other crap to get to the memory. Which I really don't want to do. So would running single channel memory be a big hit compared to dual channel? Is it really that hard to change the memory. Knowing me I will end up breaking the keyboard.

You won't notice the difference. Just use it as it is if you don't need the added capacity.
