I want to give Linux a go on my M1330, I used to use it all the time a year or 2 ago but haven't ever got round to installing it on my current PC's.

    I have 3 partitions currently, 47Mb diagnostics, 146Gb C:, 3Gb MediaDirect

I can shrink the C: to make space for Linux, can anyone tell me if...

    1. Linux still require a /boot partition at the beginning of the drive?
    2. MediaDirect still work if I leave its partition as is but move others around?
