This may be an unusual inquiry but I'm wondering how hard it can be done. Yes, I took a look at their service manual but if you have done it and have some tips, please let me know.

I have 2 Dell Studio 1535 laptops bought from their Outlet.

System 1: Blue LCD cover, ATI 3450 video, Duo Core 2Ghz.
System 2: Black LCD cover, Intel X3100 video, backlit KB, Duo Core 2.16Ghz

I'm giving system 1 away. That person like the blue cover but doesn't care about the rest. So I'm thinking to swap the LCD, keyboard and CPU. The dedicated ATI video is likely unremovable. The backlit KB requires another power connector. I'm wondering if system #1 has that connector on its motherboard or not because it only has standard KB.

Here's Dell service manual for Studio 1535. To remove the LCD basically you have to take the touch panel cover and keyboard off. I'd like to have the ATI to play some games or for better resolution when using with external LCDs. Is there anyway to just pry off the plastic cover w/o damaging the LCD?

to replace the MOBO it takes totally 1 hours (by specialist)
Keep eye on the bolt - sometimes one hidden bolt can prevent you from your (complete) target

I don't understand... why don't you just swap the LCD assemblies and give away system two? You'll get to keep the system with the better specs and not have to swap so many components...

If system one has a display of a higher resolution, I can understand needing to swap just the lid and not the entire assembly; the process is actually documented, just not explicitly:

Once you remove the bezel and the panel, you'll be left with just the lid, and you can mix and match to your liking.
