    Change HD no OS cd

    Might change HD in my new DEll 6000 no OS cd came with it XPpro what should I do. Don't want to add to much to it then have more to transfer.

    I would say contact Dell support, and ask them to send you an OS and driver CD (you'll need both). Be prepared though, sometimes it is difficult to get the cds (i have no idea why). I told them that I used their reformatting utility and it screwed up my HD and I couldn't get my laptop to boot up at all.

    The OS CD is a clean install, and has no added software, but they should send you another cd with any extra software
