I already know that I want either the E6400 in the Dell E-series or whatever Thinkpad that is comparable and that comes out at the same time. However, I read that the Montineva chipset is delayed to July 14th. Does this mean that there is going to be a long delay for the Dell E-series? I really want to get it before school starts and my current dell M140 suffers from the "vertical lines" problem. I don't know how much longer my computer screen can wait before it's unviewable. Also, my budget is $1500 or less. Do you think I can afford these new models?

I know I asked this late yesterday night, but I am asking again because I think I asked at a time when there wasn't a lot of people on the forums.

Both will almost definitely launch before 8/1 (Probably 7/14). Supplies may be limited for some models so delivery before schools starts could be a risk - but both companies are aware of when school starts and know they will get cancellations if they cannot ship - so they will try really hard. I would watch for launch and order right away.

You will definitely be able to get a 14" or 15" for $1500 - maybe not loaded - but perfectly usable.
