What are the chances that my new very expensive laptop will have a broken (stuck/dead) pixel in it's screen? That would certainly suck. I am looking to buy a Dell Inspiron 9400.

I don't know what the chances are, but, if you aren't satisfied, I think I've heard others say Dell's return period is 21 days. Check it for dead pixels immediately; if you find them, send it back (I don't know if they ask why). Definitely a fair thing to worry about, so I hope that takes some of the edge off.

Now i remember thinking that before :)
I hope that they have that sort of thing in Ireland.
And that it works if i am on a payment plan.

The odds of getting a clean dispaly are good. I'd estimate pixel problems to be less than 5%.

Most of the pc's are checked before they go out. So I would say the cahances are very low
