I'm waiting for Montevina. Some are saying that'll be some time around October or August before we can expect the XPS to be refreshed. Others are saying new XPS will be available to order in the next week. So which one is it next week or the next month? Do they mean new XPS will be available next week, but it'll take a month to get here?

We don't officially know anything yet. Everything you read right now is speculation. Intel's own launch date is today (supposedly) although they haven't announced them yet. Sony will announce their Montevina-based laptops at 9pm ET today and HP has already announced their new laptops. So, we're all hoping that Dell refreshes its line soon. But it might a little hard to get a Montevina-based laptop initially so realistically, you might be waiting a while before you can get your hands on a Montevina XPS.

Anyone who knows for sure is probably under NDA. I'd be skeptical of anything said that cannot be traced to dell.com or other authoritative site.

In the grand scheme of things, does it really matter?

I see I guess I'll just wait. It shouldn't be long I think, Dell seems like there trying to sell current XPS as fast as they can.

Non-Disclosure Agreement. It means those in the know cannot tell anyone about it until the NDA expires. The press usually gets info way before launch but needs to stay quiet due to NDAs.

It's also curious the official launch date is today, but there's no reviews at all on Anandtech or other tech sites...strange. Usually even if it's delayed like this, the NDA would still expire and reviews would be published.
