Has anyone used the card reader on the dell 1520... i'm using XP prof... it seems to read SD cards but as soon as i slide in a Memory Stick... i get a Blue Screen with ther Error

    Bad_Pool_Header

anyone has any ideaa how to fix it... i asked dell customer service about it and they say that my motherboard has to b replaced.. but i am not keen on replacing my 98 day old MoBo with a refurbished one.

Perhaps no one has an answer/doesn't use XP?

I use my card reader on my Vostro 1500 to read MS Pro Duos (with the adapter)...but I'm using Vista.

Are these blue screens happening when you have an SD card inserted and then plug in a USB memory key? They both work fine when not being used simultaneously? I want to make sure I understand exactly what's happening.

This error is caused by drivers more than anything else. I'd suggest reinstalling any driver related to the reader or the chipset.

well i know for sure now its a driver issue.. i got my motherboard changed... installed XP back again and it still gives me the same error and blue screen... i reinstalled every possible driver and rechecked it all... I think the Ricoh Drivers provided are incorrect... it just wont read a MS. it works perfectly on vista so its not a hardware issue.

I used the Dell provided Ricoh drivers in my 1520 and they worked great with SD cards and MS Pro Duo cards.
Try using a different SD card.

I'm having the same problem with Vista Business. I've tried 2 different manuf. sd cards. Both cards work well on my desktop. I'm checking out another app. that may be causing the problem before I go to dell.
