    Car Inverter For Xps 16?

    hey i going to buy a inverter for my car so i can charge and us my laptop in my car while i am on the road. the inverter i am getting has a max output of 175watts. does anybody know how much power in watts the xps 16 uses?thanks

    Well it's going to be less than 175W. In fact, it's going to be less than 90W, closer to 65W if not lower. And that's at full load. At idle, you're not likely to pull more than 15W to 20W, if not lower again. Modern mid-range laptops really don't draw that much power.

    I've just never heard of a car inverter before. :eek:

    You could buy the dell Auto Air power adapter. I bought it for my m1330 when my dog broke my origonal cord and it works wonders and whenever im low on the road just connect the adapter and drain my moms battery :p :D

    Its only 65 not 90 so it cant power and charge the 1640 at the same time but ill try it and see if it works
