Every time I press Caps Lock, a horrible noise is emitted from my laptop speakers. Any ideas? It's an Inspiron 6000, aka the bane of my existence.

    Try this:

    Start>Run

    Type in Regedit

    Go down to HKEY_CURRENT_USER

    Go to the Control Panel>Sound

Right click on Beep in the column on the right and click modify

Change the value data to "no".

Not sure if this works on Vista, hope it helps you out though.

I tried this, but I can't find how to "Right click on Beep in the column on the right and click modify"
Annoying. Very annoying. I'm using Sigma Tel C-Major Audio. Might that have something to do with it?
