ok, so i just reinstalled windows, but i used my own windows xp (not the one dell gave me), and my sound card wont work. i downloaded the drivers from their website, and used the one i have, but it says i dont have that hardware in my computer. i used the cd that came with my sound card (btw- its the audigy hd option for the e1505), and that too said i dont have the hardware. i dont understand. when i boot into linux, i have sound just fine. any ideas?

You have to install the SigmaTel drivers before installing the Creative Labs drivers over the top of the SigmaTel drivers. The Creative Labs drivers augment and don't replace the SigmaTel drivers.

The front buttons will work if you install the required drivers for your system (you definitely need the Dell system software). Review SouthernGirl's install guide for the required drivers.
