    Hello

I need help in updating the ATI X1400 driver, I went to the windows media center section and download display drivers and catalyst but after I run the setup I get "INF error, video driver not found" then when I click ok I get the following message "Setup was unable to complete the installation. Try to setup your display adapter with a standard VGA driver before running setup."
I also tried installing the Catalyst mobility driver, but it also didnt work...
I am thinking of uninstalling the current drivers and then install the latest drivers but I am afraid that it will mess up the system...
    Any suggestions?

download drivercleaner ( http://www.drivercleaner.net/) and the ati omega drivers ( http://www.omegadrivers.net/, these work better than the standard catalyst drivers). uninstall the ati drivers and reboot into safe mode. follow the instructions on how to run drivercleaner in the readme file. afterwards, install the omega drivers.

    hope this helps.

Are you trying to install the drivers automatically or manually through the Device Manager?

after the bios text but before the windows startup screen, press F8. you should see a menu with a few options including safe mode and safe mode with networking.
