I've come to the conclusion not to get the XPS M1530, it's a beautiful laptop but I will not be buying it for another totally irrelevant reason.

anyways, i need to know how to cancel my order. I ordered it on the 11th of june, it's now the 12th but its too late to call dell their customer service is closed.

So what do I do, is there a way of canceling online or do I need to call dell?

I don't know if you cancel online but you should call in the morning to talk to a person and talk in detail about why your canceling. I know if I decide to cancel I'll be giving them a long piece of my mind about their service.

Yes, you can cancel your order! As, long as it is not being *shipped*.

Just call Customer Care, and let them know you want to cancel..and they will take you thru the rest ;) :)

I had to cancel my original order, and I did it in one phone call, and reordered w/in the same phone call. ;) :)

Yeah I'm feeling ripped off that the United States get a lot better deals with their laptops. I feel ripped off when I see XPS M1530 with much better specs for $300 less on dell.com when the USD and CAD are not that different.

My other reason for canceling is because I don't feel it is right to pay $1500+ for a piece of electronics equipment, order it on June 11th and then expect a ESTIMATED ship date of July 9th, which will probably be delayed because in CANADA the 6-cell batteries are delayed for 12 days whereas USA is only 5 days

Do I really need to explain to them why I'm canceling my order in order to cancel it? I mean, this is already ridiculous as is.

I don't think you need to explain but I'd throw some zingers in while they are looking up your info and telling you that you should *wait it out*. The wait alone is making me want to cancel I can imagine the extra pricing would drive me nuts.

this is the same reason why i started having second thoughts too. if you know anyone that's a resident of the US, you can trust and will mail it to you i'd buy that way.

Sorry, you had to make this decision, but I understand ;) :) The 1530 is a nice laptop ;) :)

No, you do not need to explain anything to them...Just tell them that you have *simply changed your mind at this time, and perhaps in the future maybe, you will explore the potential purchase again* or something like that.

It is your choice to cancel, and Dell has uphold to that ;) :)

Good luck to you ;) :)

they work on commission and when he calls to cancel they're definitely going to ask why and grill him into changing his mind. the best way to cancel before it gets to the pressure tactics phase would be to let them know either:

    1) you've lost your job
    2) you've decided to feed your kids instead
    3) you're going to prison
    4) you're being deported
    5) you've got 2 months to live
