Ok that is it. I have been sitting on the fence on whether to cancel my 1520 for a Asus G1S, and I just couldn't justify spending the additional $150, besides I kept thinking that it would ship before I moved.

I ordered 7/11 and have had more than enough of this. I was told that my configuration with the midnight blue is holding it up. Maybe I called and complained too many times, but whatever, it's cancelled.

I'm picking up my Asus G1S today for $1749+tax locally.

Hopefully some of my parts will help speed yours up.

Two thumbs way up!! I had the Inspiron 1520 on my watch list. Ended up going for the Sager 2090. It took forever for the shipping. Ended up cancelling the order and I am now getting the Asus G1S tomorrow(August 8)! It is the best of its game!

It's sad to see one of the 1520 hopefuls cancel. Good luck with the asus. I'm getting quite irritated with dell myself, but I know I can't get a better deal like the one I have anywhere.

Good luck with your G1S :). It has its own set of quirks, but at least you'll have it in your hands immediately!

if dell takes forever with my order, im buying a notebook for myself and ebaying my dell whenever it gets here. you really just cant beat dell's price and warranty, which are the two things that are really attracting me.

Well I have my G1S and I love it. If you are still waiting you should look at the ASUS, nice machine. It cost more than the Dell, but it's worth it IMO.

    Nah... :p I'll wait.

Dell Inspiron = best bang for your buck, simple as that.

I've cancelled my M1330 today, I've ordered it one month ago and I'm supposed to wait another two! It's like a joke!

The G1S has GDDR3 video ram, where as the 1520 has just GDDR2 video ram. So G1S should be faster than the 1520.

Exactly, a CSR told me I was getting a really good deal, I asked him, How if I don't even have the laptop and its been over a month since I ordered it?
