So I have a couple of questions.

I have had an order in the system for a week or so, it was in pre production until Thursday of last week.

I then found out that Dell had cancelled my order by mistake. I spoke to Customer services and left a VM for my sales person who finally confirmed on Saturday that a new order had been placed but obviously with a much delayed delivery (Was 25th now 3rd March !!).

I have complained and been told the order will be set as high priority ??

    so.

    1) Is there such a thing as high priority ? anybody know how it works ?

    2) I got free delivery with my system, what basis (in the UK) does this work ?

Anything I should do/ask for to get this delivered in a decent time.

Really puts you off (especially as I also have had 2 requests for information ignored/not responded to)

    Cheers

Oh well, yet another day of rubbish service by Dell...

09:30 call the guy pointed to by my sales persons out of office - leave message no response
11:45 call again, speak to the person finally "yes know about the issue can't give you an order number", will call you back in 15 minutes
13:30 call, leave message no response
14:30 call leave message no response - ask for any kind of update
16:30 call leave message no reponse
16:55 call customer services get reference number, explain situation they promise to escalate and get me some kind of response...

    Not heard a peep back

So 5 days after they messed up I still don't have a confirmed order...

Think its probably time to give up and take my money elsewhere....

Amazed at the way they treat customers.....

Is this Normal for Dell ?

The free delivery is a promotion Dell run from time to time and is exactly what it says, free delivery instead of a £60 charge - it's not as noticeable on the Home site as they include shipping in the prices, business shows prices excluding it.

It doesn't make a difference to your delivery time anyway - there's no choice of services in the UK, it'll be shipped from Ireland with Walsh Western then passed on to a UK courier (always TNT here). Usually takes 2 working days from the Ship Date.

    Thanks for that...

As you say, it isn't spelled out anywhere....

Mind you given the way Dell are behaving right now I am not sure I should bother....

It's entirely up to you whether you should cancel and go elsewhere. If you can get an equivalent system at a price your prepared to pay I would go ahead and cancel.

    Agree 100%

Phone call from Dell this morning, long discussion and assurances given etc..

They have given me a new customer number and have submitted a priority order for me.

I will give them this last chance as the machine fits my requirements very well

    Cheers
