Canceled Order.. thank goodness :)

After waiting a few weeks since my order got delayed to August 28, I canceled my order for my pink dell inspiron 1420 and got a MACBOOK PRO instead. It was much better to walk out of the apple store with it in my hand than have to wait more than a month for something to (not) ship. You guys should check it out

 

lol, I went with a Vostro instead of my yellow inspiron. It finished in a day... so now I just have to wait for boxing to finish.

It's so stupid how colors could affect so much. It's nearly the same exact specs, minus a webcam and a/g network card, but it doesn't take over a month to ship.

 

yes, we are considering cancelling our pink 1420 order which we placed on 7/8/07. It has been delayed three times and the newest ESD is 8/28/07. We are probably going to go get the pink Sony Vaio CR laptop at Office Max. I am just really tired of dealing with Dell and their excuses. My daughter needs her laptop for college.

I needed my laptop for college, so I cancelled my SECOND m1330 order (First one was a POS) and went with the new Vaio SZ6 series. Hoping it won't have the same build quality as the "Superior" m1330. :s

 

guys, why dont you just go with an equivalent vostro... some guys in the forums have received theirs within a week

 

cuz they're not as cute.
and not to mention.. once you go mac, you never go back

 

lol... it's true how the vostro's don't look as nice as a colored inspiron... but I need it within the next 2 weeks, so it's good that the Vostro is already boxing within a day.

 

Wish my vostro 1500 would take less than 7 days in pre production

 

What did you get that's taking so long? Most Vostro orders process extremely quickly?

 

Nothing out of the ordinary. Might have been that I choose the T7300 which alot of people choose.
Few hours after posting earlier my order status just changed to Production

 

I chose a T7300, and that didn't delayed it any.

Maybe stocks just came in these last few days.

 

Yeah same thing.. Order date wayyyyy too long. So now I'm going to get a Macbook Pro... Mind you I have a macbook but usually keep dells for my gaming needs... No harm done MAC FTW!

 

How much did that Macbook Pro cost you?

 

i went to apple to build a macbook pro equal to my inspiron 1520.

Macbook pro = $2200
Inspiron 1520 = $1000

and the inspiron still has more options

no thank you. apple can keep the mac to itself for more than double any windows based notebook

 

I thought Macbook Pros only came in 2.2ghz and up. They still are pretty pricey though.

And the 17" XPS notebook is pretty damn pricey, too.

 

I also cancelled...we bought a Toshiba (in Delaware--NO TAX!!!) I couldn't wait any longer because my daughter was going to college. I can't believe I actually waited FIVE FRIGGIN WEEKS. What a waste of my time.

Everything's already been installed and configured on the Toshiba...she's ready to go and she loves it.

I will never EVER order anything from Dell again.
