Ok I bought the SXPS 16 with the 3670 on July 4th, 30 minutes after it goes into the in production stage. Now I want the 4670. So I'm told I have to cancel my order and re order. But they ll say it's impossible. I've called 1-800-247-2076, all the other customer service numbers, and have been tossed around for 2 hours now! I've even been asked to connect with the Dell Cavalier Team, they didn't help at all! Help? The sooner the better. And please give good methods because they have me written down now because I've called like 4 times. I ended up getting $50 off for inconvenience but I really want that 4670!

Call: 1-800-624-9897 (have your Order Number Ready).
and tell them you want to make a change to your order, and you need to do it *right now*..Yes, they will tell you it has to be canceled in order to make the change....and agree with that.

Be firm, yet polite..and advise that you want this taken care of before the call is concluded. If they cannot do this for you, ask for a Resolution Specialist. They should be able to do this for you, there is no reason they can't - unless you, unfortunately are speaking with an inept Rep...!!

If they won't do any of this...hang up....Call back the number and simply tell them you need to cancel, as for now you decided now is not the right time for you to be purchasing the SXPS 1640, and will call back and order when the time is right. ;)

I'm hoping these suggestions will help you.

    Cin ;) :)

I ordered on 6/30 and I have been trying to cancel because I would rather have a 7200RPM drive but it wasn't an option when I ordered.. I realized I could go through delluniversity and I customized a sxps 16 with all the options i wanted including the 7200rpm drive, a bluray drive, and faster processor for cheaper than my first order (hell yes). The only thing is that I cannot cancel my first order as support tells me is it is too far along in the process so I will have to wait to receive it and then return it. My estimated ship date is 10 days from now(7/17) and my status is In Production... Am I out of luck or is there any way I can successfully cancel my order to reorder to the specifications I want?

I've called multiple times and they've even said that they already explained I have to wait to receive it then send it back. They recommend ordering my other system now so I can get it faster but they just cannot cancel my first order... I should be able to cancel then reorder not have two charges on my credit card >_<

Call your credit card company and have them put a stop payment on the hold if all else fails

Yeah they must be changing things... :(
    I found this.

    http://support.dell.com/support/topics/global.aspx/support/dsn/en/cancel_order?c=us&cs=19&l=en&s=dhs
If, you don't' get any resolve..I would complete the Unresolved Issues form:
    http://support.dell.com/support/top...care/outstanding_issues?c=us&cs=19&l=en&s=dhs

Speak with a Res. Specialist..tell them..you changed your mind..cannot afford it..(or something)...or tell them you need to change the order..and want it cancelled *stat*.

I don't think this is fair that they have changed this like that! Because, some peeps go into production and just sit there for several days ~ before any further movement. Not a good decision for Dell to have done this. :(

Yea, I know my laptop went into production 30 minutes after ordered. But the girl told me that if I had the other laptop already bought when I returned my first one there would be no restocking fee. Problem:
    a. 2 more weeks
    b. might not have the same deal

And you didn't answer, how do I get in contact with Reso specialist?

Yes, both a. and b., not a good situation.

When you call Customer Care...ask to be put thru to a Resolution Specialist..they have to abide by your request. If they say no, say thank you..I would like a *Case Number* for this conversation e-mailed & given verbally to me, and I would like your Contact Information...that may raise their eyebrows a bit, and have them be more helpful to *you* their customer.

Either way it's always good to have a Case Number (your backup of what occurred during the convo'.

You could always refuse delivery on the first laptop and order what you want at anytime

They continue to refuse. The supervisor did too. They passed me to a supervisor when I asked for Reso specialist... And HCW that will make my process even longer

Have you contacted your credit card company ? Dell doesn't charge your card untill it's shipped.

Well I'm 15 and it's my parents credit card. (I'm giving them cash) And I've begun to speak to the Senior VP of Human Resources so that might solve something
