Hi, the first two times I sent out a computer to get fixed it arrived back within three days. This time the repair has been with the depot for 5 business days with no information on why this is taking so long and no information on when I am getting this back. I was told 3-5 days for the repair by the way and then that changed to up to 10 days! I have communicated with the tech department but all they can do is recite from notes that the repair people send and they can't get in touch with the repair people to get an up to date report. I am so worried and fustrated that I can't get any information from them about what is happening and why it is taking so long. What are other people's experience with depot repairs and how long they took and what information they could get about the repair? TIA, Yasmine

I returned it a total of 3 times, the first 2 times it took a total of 3 days (e.g. send on monday receive on wednesday) but the last time it took 4 days. The last time it took longer because they fixed more stuff.

fyi: they still didn't fix the problem haha

I've sent two things in recently. An Inspiron 710m to fix the right speaker and a XPS M1330 because it was doing weird stuff after on-site replaced both motherboard and screen.

The Inspiron left me on a Wednesday and was delivered back to me on Friday. The XPS left me on a Thursday and was delivered back to me on Monday.

According to the trackers, my units were received, fixed up, and sent back out in the one day inbetween the shipping days. They're very fast from what I've seen so far.

So then I wonder what gives with my situation?! Thanks for giving me your experiences; bolsters my thought that this is taking way too long (one week with no end in sight). Will phone them again, sigh....

I hope its not lost in the mail.

I sent in my M1210 once and was completely floored when I received it back in 2 days. Sent on monday morning, received on Wednesday morning.

Well, mine is finally shipping! Four business days in the depot. I am now asking what the delay was because it should have taken the same time as my other repairs and your repairs. I am not a happy camper with this. I don't mind shipping to depot if it will return in two days after I ship it out. But much longer on a minor repair is unacceptable as far as I am concerned. Will be yelling at Dell when I get the time, lol!
