Canadian Shipping - How long did it take?

Good morning,
I recently ordered a D820 from Dell and when I look at the tracking info on the Dell site, it says it's been shipped on the 30th, with an estimated arrival date of Nov 9th.

Is it really going to take 9-10 days to get here? I'm very near Ottawa, Canada.

Also, I managed to get my tracking info from Purolator and yesterday at 0730 it was in transit in the US. I thought Dell had a factory or two in Canada, why have it come all the way from the US?


Can anyone shed some light on this?

No usually take 6-7 days from when it hits the U.S.

 

You should expect it Tommorrow or Monday.

If it is built in Texas, it take approximately 5 days to get to the border and then 1-2 days to you. So yeah 6-7 days is about right fwiiw.

 

Just an update. They tried to deliver it this morning, I wasn't there. Should have called in sick

So I have to call back, tell them someone will be home all day monday (who knows who...) since they can't give me a window of delivery. They're worse than the cable company!

So it took 5 days to deliver from the US. Pretty good
Can't wait until monday now!!

 

Mine shipped out on November 2 and the dell.ca chat rep said I'd receive it tomorrow.

 

How long total days and what part of Canada are you guys? I ordered my m1210 on Oct.31, dell.ca estimates Nov.13th to arrive here.

 

In Nova Scotia.
Ordered 640m on afternoon of October 30th. Dell initially provided a delivery date of November 13th.

Build date turned out to be October 31st.
Shipped on morning of November 2nd.
New estimated delivery date is November 9th.

 

Your time is similar to mine, teh build date was pretty much the day after, did you call in for your status of shipped? Because online it says in production still and apparently dell has a very slow update time after the production is done. I'm in BC btw.

 

The order status page didn't update for me until after the 640m was shipped. But on the MY Account page, I did something that resulted in a one line summary of the recent order. It changed to 'shipped' the day before the 'order status' page was updated.

 

Hey mine shipped on the 30th and is coming to vancouver. And when I go to the Dell website and check the status from my account it says that it's estimated ship date is nov. 6. But when I check the status through the Email it says that it's estimated ship date is Nov. 14. So I was woundering which to go by. I was thinking the 6th because when I track my order through Purolator it says it's already in vancouver as of friday.. thanks

 

Hey fliprider what do you mean check the status through the email? I havn't received any more emails from dell, my system is in production atm. Your's will probably be here tomorrow, 4 business days plus the weekend, seems reasonable. I'm in Burnaby so its near Vancouver, when did you order your system?

Also when it is shipped does dell send an email with the purolator's tracking number? thanks.

 

Near kitchener, ON. My dell order status says it's been shipped, but the purolator tracking page is still stuck on November 2 "In transit in US". The dell people said I should receive it today. puzzling....

 

I found that if its shipped on a Tuesday or Wednesday from Purolator (as in their tracking says in transit us ..blabla, on a tuesday or wednesday) then the truck will arrive in Toronto by Thursday for delivery to the surroundings on Friday (e.g. Ottawa). Yours seems to have been on a Thursday, so probably going to get to Toronto (or a closer canadian distribution center)today, out for delivery tomorrow. I

 

Status said shipped, was in delivery preparation in the morning. I'm excited! Should I expect that it is 90% chance it can come Friday? USA to Vancouver, Canada?

Btw, am I supposed to receive a shipment tracking number?

Yee haw, typing this on my new M1210. Ordered on the 27th. shipped on the 30th, picked it up today..
