Well, due to popular demand from the unfriendly neighbors south of the border (I kid, I kid :p ) here's the Canuck version of it. I'll start it off.

    <-- Canada

    T7100
    Black
    LED w/ VGA cam
    2GB RAM
    8400M GS
    120GB 5400RPM HD
    3945abg wireless
    Fingerprint reader
    4 cell + 9 cell

    Ordered - July 4th

So please post your status specs if they're relevant to the order status (delays on certain components, etc).

Hrmmm that's interesting. I wouldn't have expected it to be in production only two days after you ordered. Where does it say in production? Is it on the page with the pictures of the steps?

I ordered on July the 9th, but there is no shipping estimate on my order status page. Talked with a customer service rep, but she couldn't tell me anything. Sent two emails to Dell, but no reply. Is the same thing happening to anyone else?

I spoke with a CSR Rep today who sated that there has been a 30 day delay on M1330 systems ordered afte a certain date...30 business days. It brought mine to Aug 23 which is where the initial estimate is in any case.

I have no shipping estimate on the order page as well

    T7300
    Black
    LED w/ VGA cam
    2GB RAM
    8400M GS
    160GB 7200RPM HD
    Intel Wireless N
    Fingerprint reader
    6 cell battery

    Ordered - July 5th
Estimated Ship date - August 23rd

There's no estimated date on the website and it's still listed as pre-production, as it has been forever.

I phoned Dell and they promised me the laptop should be at my door by next Thursday unless there are any problems. Obviously the guy had no clue what he was talking about. I tried to tell him that but he wouldn't listen to me and kept insisting it'll be here by next Thursday. It's sad because even though I'm certain he's wrong, I still cling to some small fragment of hope. :(

Maybe if you eased off the yelling, they'd be more likely to work with you. They're people too and not the ones that made your order stretch out so far.

i tried yelling and i tried talk calmly but either way it's no use. they wouldn't even give me free overnight shipping. ><"

but sorta eager to see someone to have the system by the end of this week or next? i mean even dell it's in a backlog iam sure someone must have gotten theirs by now. Unless dell release the product disregard the fact that theres still part delay .

And releasing it with a part delay is quite possible. Hardware companies do it all the time - it's called a paper launch and is generally frowned upon but customers (just think about how many paper launches ATI and NVIDIA have done in the past). The M1330 is a flagship product and meant to draw attention to the Dell in general. Launching it alongside the rest of the lineup made sense.

Still, it is quite a pain to have to wait so long, nearly 2 months if my ship date is accurate...

I think the Est. Shipping Date is late August if you order now...

There still hasn't been a review I am aware of in any print magazines... I think maybe the mags are holding off until they get a production model.

Anyway - one good review and the delivery dates may take another hike.

Okay so if I check the order status by clicking the link in my email, it still says "pre-production" BUT if I check the order status by logging into my account on Dell, I get it listed as "in production". Good thing I've been checking both but it's pretty stupid that there are two different records.

There's been no change in my estimated ship date of course.

Here are my specs and such again...

    T7300
    Black
    LED w/ VGA cam
    2GB RAM
    8400M GS
    160GB 7200RPM HD
    Dell Wireless N
    Bluetooth
    Fingerprint reader
    6 cell battery

    Ordered - July 5th
    In production - July 16th
Estimated Ship date - August 23rd
Assured to be at my house by sales rep - August 5th (or he's getting fired)

    --

As I said earlier, the Dell rep insisted that my laptop will be here between Tuesday and Thursday, which is clearly false, so I'm going to call them up today and see what information I can get. At least I should be able to get next day shipping.

    omg...

Okay, so I called up dell.. the rep said that my laptop should be delivered in the first week of august, which is better than the 23rd estimate... but when I told her that I was given this week as an estimate (which I know was a bad estimate but I thought I'd see what I could get), she transfered me to someone's answering machine and the system woudln't let me get out of it. Gotta call back and start over. :(

I just received a phone call from Dell WHICH I DONT BELIEVE!!!

The nice XPS CS Rep apologized for the delay on my M1310 replacement system and telephoned to inform me that it went in production as of today. She further stated that, as a replacement system, it is automatically moved to the front of the pack as a first priority build.

When I also asked her about the other system I purchased, she said that it was also in the build stage, however, not to expect arrival of both at the same time with the backlog.

Ill believe it when Purolater is here...

Nice. Well I called Dell again and was told that August 23rd is the real date. Lol. Sigh. I also figured out that they were transfering me to the rep who originally handled my purchase, who is out of the office today. Apparently NOBODY else can help me. He's the only one. That's really poor service. In any case, I sent him an email to see what's going on.

Update: The saga continues. The rep is out of the office until the 15th, which was yesterday. Wow.. lol.. sigh.

Just an update.. finally got in contact with the specific rep who is in charge of my order. He guarantees that the laptop will be in my house by August 5th and that it is in production, despite what the website says. He also said that the m1330 has a delay of 1 month, so add 1 month to your order date and that's when it should be in your house.

Over 50 hrs on the phone, 3 repair visits, 3 motherboards, 3 hard drives, 2 fan/heatsinks, 2 batteries and a complaint that one shouldnt be saddled with a system that you can here squeal 3 rooms away.

The last day and a half has been interesting to say the least. Yesterday, at noon, the order I purchased was cancelled for no reason; a reason that is as unknown to Dell apparently.

The exchange order remains intact but the delivery date has now been pushed to 24 July 2007. Again, I will believe it when I see it.

As for my other order, I spent 7 hours yesterday afternoon trying to get my order reinstated. I was a bit concerned because the order was placed with a 50% off coupon which initially saved me $1405. Tack onto that the free processor upgrade and the free 3 year complete care upgrade for the problems I have been granted for my troubles since my inital order placement on 3 Jul 07 (29 hrs on phone total) and you would agree this is a pretty steep order to have cancelled.

So...I spent from 12:30 until 7ish fixing this up with them and the order was reinstated...and they were nice enough to upgrade my Vista Premium to Vista Ultimate because my shipping FOR THAT SYSTEM is now 3 Sep 07.

The only upgrade I have left is 2gb to 4gb SDRAM and I would never rule that out.

It was placed into production immediately however, but this simply means financing has been approved if you use a credit card like me.

This morning I wrote a very polite letter to Dell (5 pages) and explained that this simple order has now been subject to 12 (yes countem 12) cancellations and order reinstatements to which I have every new order printed off and a secure papertrail as to what has occurred.

It was sent through a person I know in Dell and I received a call an hour after it was sent. A man, not in customer service or sales, stated that he had empathy for my position and also would be tackling this matter, expressing his regrets for my troubles. He was the first that has told me that his position allows him to effect change, in this case.

In closing, I asked him if he could speed my order up to which he replied that not a single m1330 has been shipped as of yet...so it would be hard to get this one out right now.

Tell them to return them under the Total Satisfaction program (21 days) They simply call and will be sent the mailing labels and it goes back. They get 100% of their money back if its a home purchase.

They then get to fight for a similar deal on a new purchase.

I hope they dont do what all but a few of us did with the squealing M1210 and wait until they find out the cause. They never have. Its just a real bad combination of everything that, in normal circumstances work fine.
