Isn't our thanksgiving over? And no we don't get deals like the US. We might get $100off or 25% off here or there but we can't really configure it much.

Wow those are some hefty configuration you got there. Are you willing to pay $1644 before tax for it? You can try to call and ask them if they can drop the price or buy it and later threaten them that you will cancel unless they drop the price.

well maybe they can offer rebates for 'rememberance day' as 'boxing day' is a long wait. During Canadian 'thanxgiving day' weekend, dell did sent discount coupon but it could be used against only select 'latitude' laptops which were already overpriced and had old configurations. A $2K latitude didn't even had a core 2 duo processor.

Today i went to the mall and stopped by the dell store. The rep. recognized me and asked if I have bought the laptop yet. I said no. Rep. said since I been coming there for some time so they are willing to offer me 10% discount if I buy it by the end of this week. I told them that its not enough, gimme 25% or 30% discount and i buy it rightaway.

That $1644 includes a 'free' delux/backpack bag. I wish I could remove it from the selections and save some money as I don't think its 'free'. Dell just bundled it with laptop and raised the overall price.

Asus/Acer laptops are nice but they cost atleast $200 more than the similar configured Inspiron 6400.

I hear you brother, I don't think you can take out the bag because they claim there is no money value for it. 10%off means nothing to me why not go 25% off. Before you go back to the dell store, go and call dell (1-800-387-5752). You can try to call and ask them if they can drop the price or buy it and later threaten them that you will cancel unless they drop the price.
Or just nicely say you can't afford it and they might give you a discount.

    1. What should be your guesstimate target price (canadian dollar) for a 'better deal' by calling dell direct..for following laptop:
    Inspiron 6400
Core 2 Duo T7200, 160 Gb SATA HD, 2G Ram, Dell N Draft, Bluetooth 2.0,
    ATI X1400, 15.4' Ultrabright WSXGA.

Also price with 1G RAM instead of 2G.

    2. Can they offer real real good deal if I'm willing to buy 2 laptop's with same configuration. One for me and one for a friend.

I would call and see what kind of deal they are willing to give you, I was going to buy off ebay and called to see if I could transfer the warranty as I live in Canada the salesman asked what I was looking at, he gave me a really good deal to buy from them. Do some research to see what they are going on ebay.

1-800-999-3355 this is the number I called, I first called the regular line but was told I had to talk with sales dept. It doesn't hurt to call them and find out what they are willing to do for you rather than buy online.
