Can't wait to get started - help me

Good day chaps

My 6400 T7200, ATI 256, HD 160 etc is officially on it's way to my place. I am not a computer guru and was wondering what the steps are to set up my laptop to get going when it arrives. Baasically I need the idiots guide to starting up - what disks to load/SW to unload etc?I will use the laptop to finally take advantage of my DVD camcorder (does vista give you good capability for this?), manage my pictures, surf the web and I need to transfer my ITunes from my PC to my new super fast machine! I am not sure this is posted in the right place but I think every company has it's own pro's/con's for ease of use on arrival!

The best thing to do with a Dell computer is to reinstall windows right when you get it (assuming Dell sent you the reinstall disks). They put some much bloatware on laptops when they send them that they kill resources. There used to be a guide on the forums somewhere on how to do this, but I couldn't find it. perhaps someones else can link you. Trying searching something like "clean install in windows" and see if you find some results. Hope that helps.

 

and in regard on how to set up the computer...
1. pull out of box
2. put battery in
3. plug into wall
4. press power button windows sets it self up outomatically(you just enter your name and info)

you would have to be drunk not to figure this out.

waiting will be the hardest part.
