    Hi all,

I'm trying to remove Dell restore partition using the DSRIRRemv2 utility at C:\dell\Utilities\DSR but I got this error :

Using Partition Magic, I found that MediaDirect partition sitting before the restore partition. So, how can I delete the restore partition and combine it with XP partition? Tried to remove it in add/remove program but the "Remove" button is not available there.

Also, I'm having trouble starting the MediaDirect 3.0 when the computer is off. It boot into windows instead of into it own partition. Where can I download the repair utility for MD3?

    Thanks.

Be careful with the repair utility. That was created for MD 2.0, not 3.0 so i'm not sure of the compatibility.

Second, you can not delete the restore partition and combine it with your XP Partition unless you completely reformat. Reason is because the MD partition sits in between them. Think of it like physical space - you can't combine two things with something in between them.

the easiest fix is to get 2 things one is ghost and make a dvd backup of the xp partition and the other is get a m/d 3 dvd from dell boot to the m/d dvd use it to format your drive and then restore your xp partition with ghost then fire up windows and load the m/d 3 install
