I want to play Bioshock on my m1330 with the 8400 GS card and watch it via HDMI on my 50 inch tv. When I installed Bioshock it said I needed updated video drivers. It sent me to Nvidia and I downloaded the latest driver. The driver will nor install it says I do not have compatible hardware. I tried playng the game with the stco Dell driver but the screen goes black when the game starts.

Has anyone found compatible drivers that will play Bioshock?

As Anzial said, get version 163.44, designed for bioshock, from laptopvideo2go.

Follow the instructions on the site on how to install it with the modded inf - you're getting "no compatible hardware" because you're just trying to install the thing without the modded inf most likely.

Then obviously your card is not able to play that game at that resolution.

    Turn the res down.

    I hope you realize that:

    A) Your GPU is nothing special. Is it decent? Yes. Is it considerably powerful? No.
    B) Bioshock is a very demanding game.

you should get a gaming notebook if you really want to play games... The M1330 is fantastic, but it's not a gaming machine.

    Thanks. The INF worked.

I know the m1330 isn't a gaming notebook but I thought it would be cool just to see the game on the big screen. Time to upgrade I guess. Just need to figure out the HDMI out now.

Hey let us know how all the worked...I'm curious how Bioshock will look on your 50" via HDMI. I would be wanting to do something just like that if I had 1) a M1330 and 2) A 50" TV!! :)

Bioshock rocks on a 50" screen.

    Few issues.
I need a longer HDMI cable.
At 1920 x 1080 the framerate is so low it is unusable, but it looks cool.
Played no problem at 1200? x 720. Very little visible difference from 1080.
The computer was definitely working hard. I normally rarely hear the fan but the game made it run like a jet, louder than I thought possible.

I will continue to play at the 720 setting.

Edit: Forgot to add that I have no HDMI cropping issues.
